The game mechanics, while creative, are kind of confusing and frustrating at times, especially the interrogation mechanics. LA Noire is fun, but it's a lot slower than most games, and that doesn't play well all the time. It is a game that any Max Payne fan needs to play and own. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but a little updated to modern 3PS standards (wall cover, chest high walls, etc.), and the story is the same amount of ridiculous, over the top noir/neo-noir that the first two games were. Max Payne 3 stands out as a great shooter and a worthy successor to the franchise, proving once again that Rockstar are the best at taking their ideas forwards in terms of solid single player mechanics and interesting multiplayer ones too. In a post Raid or John Wick landscape that has enabled a new mainstream appreciation of Eastern cinema, the bullet-filled ballet of Max Payne 3 always satisfiesthis truly is the closest experience to those popular cinematic adventures.
